Driving on a forbidden road

This morning my SatNav led me to a country road that is unfortunately forbidden for vehicles, and there was a big, fat camera right round the corner that flashed me. What are the repercussions?

See it from the positive side: at least your satnav didn't guide you into a lake

Farmers with pitchforks. Large and very sharp pitchforks.. they will find you.

Ditch the car, move house and do it now.

If it is a normal forbiden road according SVG and SSV then it is based on "the price list" OBV Nr. 304.1 or Nr. 304.3 CHF 100.

If it is was a court mandated ban, than what ever was stated on the sign. This can be in exceptional cases be up to CHF 1000. Most such signs I have seen are CHF 250 to CHF 500.

Was it on the Uetliberg? Then i think it is the normal CHF 100 kind.
http://www.stallikon.ch/xml_1/intern.../d154/f436.cfm

If it was up to Hochstuckli/Mostelberg then the later kind and AFAIK it is CHF 350.

PS: For dogs sake, please drive with your eyes open and to not trust some stupid electronic devices.

A country road in CH with a flash camera for those ignoring a ban on driving there("allgemeines Fahrverbot")? I've never heard of such, where was that?

You'll probably be let off lightly with a crucifixion or something like that. Typical for a first time offence.

There's one on the Altburgstrasse between the Wehntalstrasse and Affolternstrasse near Regensdorf. It would be a great shortcut when there's a lot of traffic on the Wehntalstrasse.

How much is it if it is a forbidden road that we have right-of-way for?

If someone owns a kiosk as a sole proprietor and takes a pack of bubble gum w/o paying is he stealing ?

But we aren't the sole proprietor, there is another, and the commune itself has right-of-way as well!

But the road only goes to a large gate that belongs to the other proprietor, and for which we have a key as all of the rainwater collected by the other legally belongs to us.

Re: Driving on a forbidden road

Perhaps if the OP told us which road we'd use the power of google to cross reference the road restrictions to the code of law.

Or perhaps not

Re: Driving on a forbidden road

It would also be great if the OP reported the error to the maker of the SatNav. My TomTom used to tell you to turn right somewhere in Zurich where you are not allowed to do so and where it was a faff to find a different way of getting to where you want to go ad hoc. I reported the error and it was fixed pretty quickly.

Thank you all for your response to my question, some funny, others informative. I will be wary of the SatNav henceforth!

Nice weekend!
