Why do threads on this forum go:

1. Question?
2. Your fault
3. Shame on you!
4. Shame!
5. I would never do that!!
6. Answer
7. How could you say that?
8. What's wrong with you?
9. Imagine if someone died.
10. This is the Swiss way, deal with it.
11-99. <totally off topic, debating the ethical and moral implications of something vaguely related... with a good deal of flaming and trolling>
Yea, but the alternative is:

1. Question
2. Answer
3. The end

And what good would that be to EF members looking for a bit of fun on a Friday afternoon after a (very) liquid lunch...?

I can't believe you both left out:

1.5 Why don't you use Google or the search function?
2.5 There is a thread from seven years ago that already has all of the answers.

Yes, it does make sense. I think there is enough room after the blitzer to speed up again.
Why then do you call it crap? And imply it's a money-making scheme?

Oh ffs, it's too hot to analyze every flipping word. It's a great place to put a blitzer....it does force people to slow down and it does make money. And everything is crap today.

I am still painfully aware that I was never included on the Memo to this group, especially after facing several discussions on whether I should be banned shortly after joining

Re: Ok, how bad is it?

I hope they didn't ban you from driving a car for a year!

From my experience, you can only drive with a foreign driver licence for one year, counted from the day you are registered here. In this one year period you may acquire CH licence with only a test drive in the Strassenverkehrsamt. It cost you about CHF 300 to get it.
Otherwise you need to start all the procedures as if you are a new driver here in CH. I heard that cost a lot more!

No need for a test drive/Kontrollfahrt if your license to be converted is from one of the "happy countries". See here for more information [Drivers licence] Conversion and questions, Mark II

Even if you're wearing a bunny suit?

I was a bit miffed when I got my CH drivers license. I asked the lady at the counter if they had some sort of pamphlet explaining the signs, or the traffic rules. She stared at me for a bit then said "But you have a Swiss drivers license now". Iirc I stopped at Orell Füssli on the way home and found a study guide.

Re: Ok, how bad is it?

Something to cheer the OP up a little: I don't think you'll get a ban. I think you'll be invited to pay a fine of around CHF 600 plus bogus court costs and fees for some government department to write you a couple of letters, probably totalling CHF 1,000-1,200 in total, plus two years' probation -- i.e. if, in the two years, you commit another traffic infringement that's sufficiently serious not to be dealt with by means of a fixed penalty (so minor speeding offences are OK, as long as you pay up on time!), you will receive a three-month driving ban.

Cue lots of objections and fingers pointed at various statutes, but time will tell; OP, please let us know how it pans out!

21 over inside city limits will normally lead to a one month ban.

Here the canton Zug guidelines.

would be surprised if Zurich handles it differently.
