Top box to fit a Volvo XC 60

Here is a long shot, but in 3 weeks I have to drive to France for 10 days, and will have the wife, 2 labrador, the stuff for the trip, and a lot of tools to lug through... space is therefore a problem.

I think a roof box is the answer, but as this is the 1st and hopefully the only time I'll be in this situation, would like to borrow one rather than buy one just for this trip, and then stick it in the garage never to be used again.

I would say big enough for Mama G as she is quite short, but as they aren't heated, I'm sure it would break some EU law on the transportation of Scottish women. So big enough to hold the contents of a big suitcase and some other stuff would be fine.

If you have one and would be willing to lend it to me, please PM me.

Many thanks

Papa G

I have Volvo roof bars to go on the rails John, I presume (always risky) fittings are universal for these things?

I'd say the box is fairly universal.. It has a lot of adjustment to be able to move the box forward/back and suit the bar spacing.
It attaches to the bars via U bolt type things so if the bars were really wide or really thick it could fail..

If you don't find one closer I can get some measurements tonight. I won't be using it again this year so welcome to have it.

Not quite as good as 'free', but you can rent top boxes reasonably from Norauto in France. It'll cost you €60 for two weeks rental.
