Is this allowed? SBB/ZVV ticket related question

Suppose I have a day pass for Zurich 110 zone and a round-trip ticket from Zurich HB to St. Gallen. Is it ok for me to get off the train at Flughafen and take the 10 tram to town? Does my SBB ticket cover the Flughafen Zone, I believe 121?

Re: Is this allowed? SBB/ZVV ticket related question

That would not be possible.
Your St. Gallen - Zurich ticket is not a Zone ticket (Z-Pass Ostwind). It is a SBB line ticket and only valid for trains running on this line but not trams. You can switch to a tram at Oerlikon earliest as this is within Zone 110 for which you have a ticket.

Other option is to get a 1-2 Zone extension.

Thanks. Can I switch trains at Flughafen, as the direct trains from St. Gallen to HB don't stop at Oerlikon?

You can switch trains in Winterthur or Zurich Flughafen to get a connection
to Zürich Oerlikon.

Re: Is this allowed? SBB/ZVV ticket related question

Sure. You can switch trains or do stopovers along the route as many times as you like. This is not England
There is only one condition: You can only once turn the direction of your travel and from that point you must go backwards. Preferably this is in St. Gallen.

(Except it is a super saver ticket. Then you are bound to a specific train.)
