My ML350 is saying it needs a regular service, but since I am out of the warranty period with the Mercedes garage and currently unemployed, I heard that servicing outside of CH is generally cheaper. With Germany I understand, no questions there. But what about servicing it in FR or IT? Has anyone had an experience with that?

I live in Geneva and going to Italy (Padova area) once-twice a year. It may sound a little weird for non-CH, I assume, but is it worthwhile to go for service and some parts replacement to a Mercedes garage there in terms of quality/price consideration?..

It would be great if someone could share their IT or FR experience - good or bad. One of mines with an Audi garage in Ferney: I had a convertible Audi that had a roof problem (It wouldn’t open anymore). The AMAG GE garage quoted CHF1’000 to fix the problem, the Audi garage in Ferney quoted EUR 4’000... Go figure... They had my car for 1/2 day, so I would call it either pure cheating or low level of skill... This makes me think twice now going for a garage in FR, even the one that belongs to the car brand.
