Reviving this old thread.

We need to change our family car, and I was looking at used cars, in the 20-25k range. These 2 models seem like a good fit for us (and especially for my wife, who is opposing any car made by Skoda, Toyota, Opel, Kia, or any French car).
Not really much point in trying to make a rational argument then, is there?

Neither is exactly pretty by any stretch of the imagination

You are foolish to discount the Skoda, excellent car for the money, far better than the two mentioned

For this money, I only find Skoda Rapid or Fabia. Both of them are much uglier IMO than the Mercedes/BMW.

My search:
* from 2018. up to 30k km
* ab MFK
* Isofix, Rückfahrkamera, Automatic

Search

Sounds like you've already made your decision and are just looking for supporting opinions. Wasting your time and ours really, if you're not actually going to take any notice of what anyone says if it doesn't agree with what you've already decided.

Excuse me? My question was about "ActiveTourer vs. Mercedes Class B", and I didn't make my decision already, is still an open one.

Re: Mercedes B vs BMW 2 Active Tourer

never drove the merc but had the bmw as a courtesy car once and while it was nice to play with the "new" features (windshield display, cameras... etc), it really felt like any low cost rental car. Poor engine, poor interior, no spirit ...
I was quite happy to get back in my 20 year old bmw after that.

Re: Mercedes B vs BMW 2 Active Tourer

I haven't driven both these models, but one thing to keep in mind is service and spares. While Merc service & repairs cost a fortune, BMW i find very easy on pocket being a decade old owner of both old n new models.

Alternatively, try VW Sharan too. Same class and pioneers in this segment. BMW, Merc, Seat, all just simply followed Sharan.

Good luck!

Thanks, I had the wrong impression that the service costs would be quite the same.

We think a 7 seater is too big for us. Thank you again.
