Can you get flashed in the front but then not in the back motorbike

I was driving my motorbike in town. And I pulled open once.
I saw a front facing Camara flashing and I could still slow down fast enough to not get flashed in the back. I think I passed the back flashing one at 20 kmph while I got flashed at 45-50. Since there was no flash in the back. Will I get a Ticket.

Re: Can you get flashed in the front but then not in the back motorbike

Advantage of a motorcycle is that there's no plate in the front

If there's no picture of the back, or nobody's take the effort to see if they have the front with the speed offence also you will get no fine.

This has saved me probably more than once. Not that I tend to speed through the towns (I try very much to respect the people who live there), but sometimes the village starts sooner than I expected

Re: Can you get flashed in the front but then not in the back motorbike

I'm currently waiting to find out in a related scenario. For me it was out the country where I was flashed from the opposite side of the road with a red light, not sure if that is to activate a camera on the driving side to catch the back of the vehicle (bike). It was about 50-55 in a 50 zone.

Re: Can you get flashed in the front but then not in the back motorbike

I got flashed once going into Baden with a front-facing camera, nothing happened.

On a relevant instance, one time in Zurich I got flashed at a little over 50, and when I saw the flash stopped the bike right next to the camera. It was day, so I couldn't see if the camera flashed on the other side with a delay, so I waited for ~5sec swearing, and then started going again slowly. As soon as I passed the camera, it flashed me again in the rear, and a couple of weeks later I got the fine.

That's how I learned that cameras don't have a fixed waiting time to flash both sides, but track the subhect, and that they don't average the speed but take the first measurement.

Re: Can you get flashed in the front but then not in the back motorbike

I got flashed from the front hit the brakes was not flashed from the back.
That was with a car which had plates front an back.

By law and regulation the machines must perform two meassurements, only if both are above the limit it counts (https://www.metas.ch/dam/data/metas/...echnik%20E.pdf).
So, depending how the machine does this you might able to slow down enough so that the second meassurement is below the limit.

Some machines flash from the front only. If you are way above the legal speed, they might do some extra research to find the culprit.

Haha, of course not. I paid my "4 kph over" fine knowing that it was my fault for not slowing down soon enough

I'm pretty certain that the first flash measures the speed and that's it, because it's happened a couple of times to get the second flash significantly lower than the limit, and still got a fine...

Yeah I thought of that, but it was a slow August day with little traffic, and I thought I waited long enough...

If it was possible to stop and wait, why didn't you just turn around and drove back the way you came?

What about mobile speed traps? Do they measure your speed on the front, and then when you pass they take the photo or it's a normal front facing photo?

It allways depends as there are so many different approved devices: http://legnet.metas.ch/legnet2/Eichs...tlang&lang=ge&

great discussion topic. I don't understand how people with super cars do it if they can get fined all the time
