Bern-Basel Transportation/stay

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all are doing well. First of all I appreciate information provided by group members. Finally I find a job in Basel related to my field. Now I need little more information. I decided to stay in Bern and travel everyday to Basel at least for couple of months. I want to know

1: The company boss inform me I have to work for 2 weeks in Basel and then He will arrange training in another company in Frankfurt so I have to go there for at least 3-4weeks as company already purchased Equipment from Frankfurt where Im supposed to work. So whats the best option for 14 days? I know GA but it is conditional to 4 month.

2: For regular travel Bern-Basel everyday do we have any economic option other than GA.

3:What is hobbyroom (Hobbyraum mit Wasseranschluss/Lavabo). Actually I was looking cheap option to stay in Basel but Im not familiar to this term.
Thanks again for your valuable feedback.

The purpose of of hobbyroom is not for stay and live in that room , in that room
you can repair or build something, make sports....

What kind of permit do you got ?

Re: Bern-Basel Transportation/stay

I had similar situation. My girlfriend was living in basel and ever friday I was going to basel and back monday morning to bern. I asked some tickets in SBB and they offered me monthly ticket bern-basel is 200 chf. Maybe price increased a bit, not sure it is still the same

Re: Bern-Basel Transportation/stay

1: for 14 days there are no cheaper alternatives I think. With 10 working days you are already over 400 CHFs of tickets with half-price.
2: Basel-bern is right there on the threshold of 121 km which makes the GA price similar to the city-city abo.
Edit: actually GA is cheaper at 340 CHF, but it would be 680 CHF if you take into account that you have 2 months extra you might not use. City-city abo is 421 CHF.
3: Those are useless, there's no bathroom just a lavabo and you cannot live in them anyway.

Re: Bern-Basel Transportation/stay

Hello

sorry but there is no name. I just went to a sbb office in bahnhof and told my situation and he/she calculated and told me 200 chf. Maybe I have half fare card? I checked now but I also see 421 chf.

but if you are under 25 then I see it offers 306 chf.

if you have half-fare car, you should try it with halb tax. I would say, sometimes sparbillett is fine. You can find ticket for 6-10 chf.. but mostly there is no sparbillett in early morning and finishing work time.
