Re: Annual train pass Lachen SZ - Zurich

Is this perhaps what you need..?

https://www.zvv.ch/zvv/en/timetable/...tab-tab_0.html
It defines the zones for many places, including Lachen.

See also "point to point travelcards" here:
https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-an...n-tickets.html

including the sentence:
Please note that for routes above a certain distance it would be better to buy a GA travelcard.

The calculation can be worth doing, especially if you are likely to be out and about around Switzerland during your leisuretime, too.

The GA stands for "Generalabonnement" which is a go-as-you-please ticket for all of Switzerland (with a few exceptions, expecially mountain railways). There are excellent deals for adults, with or without children, living in the same home.
https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-an...passes/ga.html

There are also special cards which allow a parent who has a valid ticket, to take a child along for free.

OK, thanks. That is helpful.

Indeed, GA is a consideration. But unlikely to make sense. We are a family of 4, and having one person with GA will not facilitate weekend trips with the train when the car is just waiting downstairs.

Ah well, the first link of course refers to Lachen Schiffsstation only. Commuting to Zurich by boat will be a time-consuming thing ...

Re: Annual train pass Lachen SZ - Zurich

Yes, it'll depend on the ages of your children. As soon as they are old enough to be out and about by themselves (or with their friends), and this age is typically younger in Switzerland than in some other countries, they might need a GA of their own. They can each have one for a very much reduced price if one of the adults in the home has a GA.

Welcome, and well done for doing your research in advance.

Sorry. Maybe on that site you could look at the zone maps. Perhaps you'll be able to see it there, not sure, though.

Re: Annual train pass Lachen SZ - Zurich

Hi !

I wonder if you found a solution for an annual Card ?

I started reading all info at ZVV and SwissPass, but ended in a loop without final price....

Not sure if there is actually one Card cheaper than GA for this Commute ?
