Re: Motorbikes and fines

he must be a really close friend for you to want to take the huge fines, driving ban and record for him, especially given the wage difference between here and romania.

Now now, are you casting doubts on his story about the "friend" driving ?

I.m sure its all true maybe its just me, not having a close enough friend who'd I do this for. To be fair i'm pretty sure none of my friends would ever expect me to take the heat for them.

I see it the opposite, its a business opportunity: A lot of rich Swiss would happily pay the fine and then some if somebody else could take their months of driving bans and conviction.

Is "rent-a-romanian.ch" still free? "Your honor, yes, I swear that I borrowed my Ferrari to the visiting plumber… he needed to get some part from Hornbach... and I just wanted him to get it quicker to pay less hours…"

Re: Motorbikes and fines

Good one

If here there are doubts here on the forum, then for sure police/judge will have them too.
Thanks guys for your help and opinions, really appreciate it.

Good to know there are places like this.
Cheers!

please @roegner stop deleting my posts, they are not resurrecting old threads and contain new information! Or at least discuss with the other admins/moderators!

@Notlocal
how did your case turn out, did they believe you?

Also:
-thankfully, not the cop decides what to believe, but the judge
-a lawyer might be a worthy option
-there is no implicit limit when crossing into the city, it has to be declared/posted (sign "50 general"). Otherwise it's still 80

@all what happened to "in dubio pro reo"?

My guess is that roegner discussed extensively with the other moderators, and decided that the best approach was deletion.

Utter bollocks. The law states that unless otherwise signposted, the speed limit in built-up areas is 50 km/h. No sign is required. But go ahead, drive at 80 through a built-up area and let us know how you get along.

As far as the police and courts are concerned, there is no dubium.

Nope. City/Town limit (blue or white sign with name of city/town) isn't necessarily the beginning of built up area. A sign IS required!

Case in point?
Limit changed to 60:
https://www.google.com/maps/@47.4917...7i13312!8i6656
Then the town limit (on main road/"Hauptstrasse"), speed limit stays 60:
https://www.google.com/maps/@47.4920...7i13312!8i6656
Evident by repetition of 60-sign INSIDE town limit with black double-headed arrow:
https://www.google.com/maps/@47.4932...7i13312!8i6656

Read also Art. 4a Abs.II VRV: limit is only effective from sign "50 general".

I've never received a ticket for speeding in Switzerland.
