Car acquired 2 weeks ago - wife does not like it

Hello everyone,
I have acquired a used Citroen C4 [details removed]
However, my wife does not seem to like it and wants me to get rid of it.
I cannot ship the car back to the garage, so I will have to sell it.

What would you do at my place:
1. Looked for a car dealer that will buy it and have that problem off your head.
2. Place the offer on the Auto scout, and look for the best, dealing with the potential buyers?

As Switzerland is not famous for families with kids, the car buyers interested in an MPV I believe it is limited.
How difficult would it be to sell it on my own? Is it even worth the hassle?
The car is in Kloten near Zuerich. Do you know any garage that could acquire the Citroen brand?

Regards

Trade it in for a car that you and your wife can agree on? Take it to a dealership of whichever make of car you both like and get them to part-ex it?

Bit of an expensive change of heart, though.

What? That's the first I've heard of that. I believe that the contrary is true.

Perhaps the Swiss are not 'famous' for buying 5 year old French wagons. What doesn't your wife like about it? It's a cheap car and I guess not your dream car? That literally is a car to get around in. I would keep it. If not get rid of it at a dealer, but what a complete ballache for a Citroen!

Re: Car acquired 2 weeks ago - wife does not like it

The option of replacing the car looks like a good idea, thanks.
We have another car, but I wanted to buy her a gift to go around the down with the kids and stuff, so it was a gift. She does not like the mirror and poor visibility behind the car, as well as no park sensors. So I cannot force her to use it, right? I thought she will like it, but obviously, Audi is a way to go.

bigblue2 - that would be in a different section and at least would have some pictures.

I wish I could edit the post and remove the technicals and stick to the original question because you might be right, but that was inadvertent.

Next time involve your wife in major purchasing decisions? Or at least do your research better.

If that is indeed true, then with all due respect, I'd be very irritated by this lack of gratitude. Could you have asked, well maybe, but even then: this type of reaction to a very expensive gift, Jesus...

But of course that wasn't your question and I'll shut up now.

Other than trading in the car I don't think there's much you can do.

Ditto on this, I can't believe someone would buy a car (at least a sole family car) without input from their wife.

Perhaps the husband is buying it with money from before the marriage or inherited money, in which case she has no say? Swiss marriage & inheritance laws can seem odd to us Brits.

Meh can't be buying a Citroen full stop let alone as a present...!

In all seriousness - just trade it in for something else; though of course will get more if you sell independently (hassle though!)

Presumably the other car is big enough for the family, so why don't you offer to keep the Citroen for yourself and let her drive the other one?
