Question about SBB Train Tickets

I am currently estimating the cost of some short trips, and I had a question about the ticket purchasing on the SBB website.

Does the photo below imply that the 12,50 CHF is the price if I had a half-fare card? If so, why are they showing me this price if I do not yet have a half-care travel-card?

Re: Question about SBB Train Tickets

Yes, that's the price with half card. That's the option that appears as default. You need to go in the passenger details and select the appropriate option. I don't remember what exactly it says, but something like no reduction and then you will see the price for those without half card.

try the geeky way: https://www.sbb.ch/en/ or https://www.sbb.ch/fr/ or https://www.sbb.ch/de/ or https://www.sbb.ch/it/

but there is indeed no option on the site to change it.

Perhaps, but the code monkeys who write it don't normally design the site

Site designers are often non-IT types who couldn't write code if you held a gun to their heads

Had another Swiss website which went out of its way to make sure you had to read it in German and hid the language button at the bottom of the home page (you had to scroll down for hours to get there), ah yes Migros.

It's now right at the bottom of the page. Ridiculous as virtually every site I know puts it at the top where it's easy to find. Mr. SBB, not everyone speaks german you know!

Conversely, code monkeys can be crap at designing non-intuitive user-friendly user interfaces.

Oh, I wish I had known that before I just gave up and shopped at Coop instead. Oh well.

Scroll down, bottom left hand corner. And you are not the only one - it is a regular complaint on travel forums. It also does not remember your choice!
