These are completely ridiculous valuations. I was lucky the first time I shorted them, but I ain't touching them again. Market cap > VW and market share <1% tells me the guys propping Tesla have unlimited amount of oil..ooops, sorry, money.

Thanks for helping lower the share price and letting me buy in. Nobody is propping up Tesla and certainly not oil.

I‘m surprised how many „experts“ are unable to see what Tesla are doing and will do. They are bring total disruption to the motor industry. By Ford‘s own admission Tesla are 5-6 years ahead of them. In the time it takes the legacy manufacturers to convert to all electric, Tesla will have opened more factories round the world and maintained their lead.

Tesla can do what others can‘t - that is design and build an EV from scratch - not stick an electric motor and batteries in an existing model like the electric Mini - giving mini range too.

Tesla identified the need for charging stations and built and continue to build them.

Tesla are also heavily into batteries and domestic solar. It is Ford, Daimler, BMW who we should feel sorry for - especially as what they have been making for over 100 years will be banned in 15 years‘ time...

Looking for CARWASH RECOMMENDATIONS

Hi, - Can anyone recommend a great carwash in Zurich that can handle a black Tesla with care?

It would be an added bonus if its a place that's open in these corona times.

Thank you!

Not quite sure what is different about washing a Tesla. Or is it the poor paintwork I sometimes read about ?

Re: Tesla Model 3 Fan Boy Thread

Yes, I have read that brushless/touchless carwash is the better option because of the paint.

I know, the pollen

Carwashes are closed until April 26th, the virus......I don't understand why since a robot does the job and you're quite far away from other people cleaning the cars.

Never seen a contactless carwash, but Tesla sales people should know better.

Your best bet is the do-it-yourself wash bays at many carwashes, like the SoftCarWash chain. Lots of them are open, including their "Waschstrassen" -- see link.

Just use the jet hose, not the brush (imagine how much abrasive dirt and how many tiny pebbles, etc., are trapped in those brushes after washing thousands of filthy wheels...). You won't get the hot air drying treatment but it only takes 4-5 minutes to hand-dry your car with a chamois and you'll get much better results.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Fan Boy Thread

Thank you for the replies. I will definitely venture out to SoftCarWash asap as recommended by '22 Yards'. Very much appreciated.

Yep! We've had the car for about a month, but only got a garage spot for it last week. It doesn't look impressive dressed in yellow.

Good input, - Tesla recommends the one close to their service center. Not the most convenient location for me.

You're probably right. First-time car owner...

Thanks again!

Teslas need special care. It's advised to look for a car wash with gluten-free water.

I‘ve always used the self jet system at Landi for mine without problem. CHF5 is more than enough...

Guess what the number 1 selling car in the UK was in April 2020?

(A bit unfair, I know, when the market fell 96%!)

Re: Tesla Model 3 Fan Boy Thread

Just got the annually-read electricity bill for the last 12 months. Covered 13,000kms - probably 11,000 kms charged at home with a Tesla wall connector on a 3-phase 220 volt system.

The bill is CHF240.- more than last year - an increase of 1590KWh over last year...

I saw that on YouTube, too. I guess it was recorded before the launch, otherwise Jay would have asked why it's bulletproof, but not low-velocity-steel-ballproof.

That thing actually looks a bit better close up than it did on stage.

Also, can Elon pack much more filler into his jaw and chin? That's an impressive volume already.

Another nice Tesla clip

Imagine what would happen if you would replace those 9 bicycles with a Ferrari.

What a great idea! I'm withdrawing my Ferrari from sale. I'm going to use it to power my clean, green Tesla instead. Wins all round! 👍😁

Re: Tesla Model 3 Fan Boy Thread

Is anyone using a Model3 for a company car? Even though it's electric, do the same rules apply for it (taxation-wise, km-reimbursements, etc?).

Re: Tesla Model 3 Fan Boy Thread

What are people's experiences of charging their Tesla with a normal wall socket here in Switzerland?

Did you install an extra wall socket specifically? What level do you normally charge at? I test drove a model 3 and tried with an extension cable, it was ok up to 8A (although the extension cable got hot) - at 10A it cut out after a bit.

My house has 20A overall, which is not that much, so although a little worried about daytime charging leading to blown fuses, probably should be ok overnight.
