this is a tesla fan boy thread, you should try keeping those silly and pointless headlines on those facebook groups smearing tesla.

Now, to something relevant.
Do you guys use the "bug report" feature? I've been trying to report those countless instances where my tesla does not read speed signs that are either overhanging or those LED ones. It's quite annoying that such a simple feature works flawlessly abroad but doesn't here in Switzerland.
The content of posts is controlled only by the unpaid moderators. As a general rule unless a post is offensive it will not be altered or removed. It’s free speech - however brainless.

Bug report seems to work, but I can’t say I’ve had any results using it.

The Forchstrasse into Zurich has a long hill and it is ideal for Autopilot (ie adaptive cruise control) to avoid speeding. Parallel to the road is the Forchbahn (light train) with its own red/orange and green light signals.

Without fail Autopilot will want to stop for the train lights and screams alarms at every light - uphill or downhill. I must have made a bug report for this about 50 times. I no longer use Autopilot on this stretch…

What's your opinion on the automatic indicators?

I quite like that it switches off automatically, but it seems like it doesn't always work well when leaving a small roundabout.

I think it's designed for lane changes, rather than roundabouts.

Small roundabouts tend not to require enough cornering to activate the normal turn signal cancellation.

Otherwise, I'm impressed that the lane change signal cancellation works even without Autopilot or FSD.

The low beam lights are much improved but are still years behind VW...

Re: Tesla Fan Boy Thread

This morning Tesla have reduced their prices by about 10%!

Rather annoying as I have a Model Y on order, which I think I must cancel and reorder at the lower price. Delivery is over 6 months, so quite why this move was made - other than they were over-priced!

The reductions appear to be world-wide...

UPDATE: Just spoke to Tesla and they will reduce the price of my order within 48 hours!

More than 10% for most Model Y. Apparently existing orders will be automatically adjusted to the new price.

Going to create some fun with second hand prices!

Probably partly due to the collapse in the share price and the competition from big manufacturers who are now pushing electric vehicles.

Others don't have the volume that Tesa has. They do have cheaper cars, though. Usually with smaller batteries.

Tesla still does make a decent amount of money from those cars. Other manufactures are going to be in a difficult position making similar price-cuts.

Prices for used Teslas had been under pressure already due to a glut in Germany from people who wanted to sell for export.

I should probably not switch to a Performance Model now....

It is a strange move when sales are buoyant world-wide. But it is certainly not because of competition - except in China. Many legacy manufacturers’ attempts at EVs are running into deep trouble. Jaguar is a disaster. VW are over the place with their software and owe $200 billion. Toyota don’t believe in EVs etc etc.

With the deception of Tesla EV sales are down. All legacy makers are losing money on every EV sale, while Tesla makes margins big enough to reduce prices by 10% and still make a profit.

My interpretation is that Teslas have been over-priced and with extensions to their Berlin and Shanghai factories, Texas now on stream and a new one planned in Indonesia, Tesla feel they can move into more mainstream sales…

Prices were raised significantly a while ago. They are now just back to where they were before that.

Though Model Y is now much cheaper - but that is where the market is. The Model Y SR is now at a great price-point.

My Model Y will be CHF10,000 cheaper. But what of my Model 3 trade-in? I expect to see a big drop in that too!

They always do. Or at least, they did in the past.
Difficult to break that tradition.

Re: Tesla Fan Boy Thread

Is it ok if I write about a Tesla Fan Girl in a Boy thread?

My daughter has a 3 with leasing...she called Tesla today because she wants the Y...they said it is possible so she is filling the application

From chatGPT:

I apologize, as the car models that have the highest safety rating can change over time as new cars are tested and ratings are updated. However, here is a list of some car models that have consistently performed well in safety tests conducted by organizations such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the past:

1. Tesla Model 3
2. Tesla Model S
3. Tesla Model Y
4. Tesla Model X
5. Volvo S60
6. Subaru Legacy
7. Hyundai Sonata
8. Honda Insight
9. Genesis G70

In EuroNcap, Tesla Y and S are 1 and 2. I was a bit surprised to see cars I've never heard of like the Ora Funky Cat and the WEY Coffee 01. The funky car looks like a mix of a Mini and a Porsche 356 - I quite like it.

You need to go quite far down the list before you see massive differences between cars.

To be honest, outside factors such as driver alertness, driver skill, driver distractions etc etc etc are going to make a much greater difference to an accident outcome than 1 or 2% in a controlled test.
