Thing is, it's likely not a mystery fee. If you rent cars often then you know that every company has a fee list. Last time we rented, there was even a sign on the counter that spelled out the admin fees for various things such as accidents, speeding tickets, etc.

Nope, you're just trolling.
If you like metaphors so much, someone did not cross the street on the pedestrian passage and everyone feels entitled they can stone this person to death.
Is it clearer that way?
Now lets assume this person signed a paper upfront telling the others they can throw stones at him when he does not use the passage.

Should that person still be surprised/outraged if they actually do?

Also there are signs on the street telling the person he will be stoned if he does not use the passage

From hertz website:

Quote:
I've been given a fine. What happens now?

The fine will be sent to Hertz. Hertz will identify the person responsible and provide this information to the police or relevant authority. You will then receive the fine directly from the police. Hertz will also invoice an additional CHF 48.60 (incl. VAT) processing fee to you for the effort involved in doing so.
Also you said this:
Quote:
T&A obviously describe very clearly that they might be a fee for handling the request.
Which indicates that you do not read what you sign, that is just plain dumb imho. (and yes it is in the rules)

Also you said this:

Quote:
but because until now I never had any mystery fee coming afterwards
Now please explain what is mysterious if the company does exactly do what you and the company agreed on the company should do?

Feel free to call everybody a troll, in this topic however the joke is on you, you do not read, you overspeeded, you got the fine and you are whining and blaming others that they treat you unfair while it is you who is pathetic about this.

Greets.

There isn't any mention of the amount in the contract. But, there is a mention stating they reserve the right to apply a fee for handling it.

No, you still don't have the right to stone a person to death even if they sign a paper giving you the right to.
Your neighbours should worry.

This is not from Hertz website. But from Hertz Vans. I did not rent a van. I already contacted Hertz on this topic, they could not give me any proof that they would charge 49Fr. But, nice try.

I am not calling everybody a troll. I am calling you a troll. But, you act as a "we" since your only reason to be on this forum is exactly that. To prove it is really easy, look at your posts history.
Maybe you should try to get a life? no?

Nah, I think my neighbours are not so dumb to sign such paper, and they are not blind so they see the signs. Also if it would be something legal like for example charging 49,- for extra work caused by a customer it would be o.k. according to your reasoning, also the thought of stoning and killing somebody for jaywalking was yours, do your neighbours know you have such thoughts? Are intrusive thoughts normal to you and do you want to talk about it?

Better a "troll" than a whiner.

And thank you, but I have a life (unless you belief in posting on EF from the afterlife...

Yeah they should. You basically are a fascist insulting people on forums. Dumb, whimp, pathetic are part of the words you use to your countrymen. Nice... I guess you do it here because you are afraid to speak in public. It must be hell for whoever share their life with you. They probably cannot say anything you don't agree with.

Have a very nice evening...

Well at least I am a "fascist" who just pays things I knowingly signed up for.

And my wife and I love each other, thank you, but both of us don't blame others for the effects of our own mistakes unlike you.

Also I don't consider myself a troll, I try to have some fun with my postings towards you and also educate and inform you at the same time, and trust me even tho I have doubt if you can be educated or take the information, the fun is real.

Ps, do you really want to draw the "what would our partners think of us" card? Trust me, you don't, you would just get upset more than you are already while I would keep on smiling.

Hahahaha, I am not upset at all. I am actually laughing at your ignorance. You are trying to "educate" me? Do you think so high of yourself? Good for you.

On the other hand, I will not try to teach you anything. I know people like you will never think they could be wrong. You feel like you are the only one on earth who is right and you should bring your knowledge to the others.

But sorry to bother you. You are probably busy reading the terms & conditions of your electronics.

Llanmorgan - stop calling people facists just because you don't like their answers.

Also, I've split this to its own thread, as your complaint has nothing to do with court costs and admin fees as mentioned in the original thread.

Well clearly many of us had knowledge you failed to have, and now thanks to us you have it.

Like for example that Hertz is very clear on how much this would cost

Re: Annoyed by rental car company admin fee

Well I can beat you Llanmorgan. I had a small EUR 10 parking fine from Germany and Hertz charged me CHF 49 as well. I also had a speeding fine for CHF 100 and Hertz charged me CHF 49 for that also. I actually had a few more but I'll spare the details.

Yes, it's annoying but I agreed to it when I signed the contract. However, I found a solution to not pay it.

I stopped speeding and parked correctly!! Et voila, no more admin charges, and no more fines either. A double bonus!

I got a fee for a fine in the Netherlands about 2 yrs ago, I know the fine was correct since I did see the radarcontrol and knew I was busted. I however never got the fine, so that's 100% for handing costs

They just put the amount they want. I received a €15 fine from Germany and Hertz is asking for Fr.49- for administration fee.
Basically, more than 75% of the fine is actually coming from Hertz. I would be so glad to find a rental agency where you can rent a car without being afraid to be stolen at one point or the other.
I avoid to rent from hertz or other known company, the service is usually bad and the cars not so good. The best advice I can give you don't get the car directly from the company, but go through thorough a site like rentalcars or billigermietwagen. Rentalcars is especially good if there is a followup. They were able to put pressure on the rental company and solve some issues.

Speaking about Hertz, I got a car in Zurich and they tried to charge me for a small scratch. Around 500 CHF. After discussions it resulted that the scratch was already there, but not written own on the car papers.

Generally cal rental is about hustle, they try to pressure you in getting extra insurance and what not. Unfortunately such charges are to expect, you can try to fight back, but for a small amount it's usually not worth the time
