Re: Road safety: Vehicle speed limiters EU & UK from 2022

This bit is interesting as well though, "Under the new rules, cars will also be fitted with compulsory data recorders, or "black boxes" ".

So in an accident, police/insurers can see what speed you were doing, which presumably also means they could pull you over, 'plug in' and take a look at the last 5 mins of driving, if they had reason to do so.

So, the days of people speeding like a tw4t slowly draw to a close.

The days of people living private lives are drawn to a close. Is seriously nobody noticing what is going on??!!

This "stop speeding" (or what ever it is at a time) sounds great but seriously, still falling for this shit?
It will also inform about where you were, how long for, how often a month etc. etc.

I suggest mass chipping. It's been tested, cats and dogs seem to be fine with it. So one more test on pigs and it's ready for us.

What would you say, why do Google and Apple give away their operating systems? What do they do with the data they harvest?

The days of privacy have been gone since Android and iOS got their doupol. It's just a question if Big Brother comes in the form of private companies or the government.

With this respect China is 20 years ahead of the west... well lets hope it is at least 20 years.

So it's Ok to be tracked by private (foreign) companies that are largely unregulated but there's a huge problem if the government can do the same.

Riiiight.

I've come to the conclusion you're hopeless, regarding this.

Oh and I have been hoovering my flats for decades, never owning a hoover. In fact, come to think of it, I think I've never even seen a hoover.

An other thing crossed my mind. For ages it had annoyed me that people would step on their brakes for no reason at all. Even on highways, where it is illegal to do so for no reason. Until it was brought to my attention that more and more people drive automatic cars (automatic gear box - don't know what these cars are called properly in English).

So with these speed limiters in the new cars, people will do a lot of weird stuff again (their cars will), one needs to reckon with when on the road.

Well, at least to people like me in old cars, driving will not become boring.

Perhaps that's because your posts so far make no sense.
