Motorcycle, driving license conversion

Hello Everyone,

I am 36 years old and I have an italian driving license B (2001) and A (2009).
I moved to Zurich in January this year but, since my driving license will expire at the end of May, I already need to convert it.

Just I have the following doubt: I heard that, although I have the A from more than 2 years, I will just get the A restricted (35 KW). I would like to ask if this is correct?

Thanks
Erma

Re: Motorcycle, driving license conversion

If you have the full A category then you'll be fine - the only problem would be if your current license only lists A2, which in the EU automatically entities you to the full A class after two years, but does not automatically convert in CH.

If that's the case then you should renew the Italian one to get the full entitlement listed before swapping it to a Swiss licence, or else you'll only get the restricted class and will need to take another test here to get the full one.

I have the full A on my Italian driving license, so there should be no problems!
Thanks
