Independent Ferrari mechanic

Hello all,

I am in search of an independent garage capable of servicing a Ferrari in the Basel area. Dealers are much too expensive for my old car, and I'd like to find someone independent that can do maintenance work of the vehicle.

Before the hate posts begin, it is an old Ferrari from the 80s that I inherited from my father, so it has great sentimental value despite being worth as much as a new Fiat 500.

Re: Independent Ferrari mechanic

Although not specifically a Ferrari mechanic, you might contact this independent workshop, run by a Kfz-Meister, in Laufenburg, D:

There's also a nearby train that goes to Basel-Baden train station.

There's a little, independent Ferrari garage in Waedenswil that may be able to help or let you know if there's anyone nearer to Basel.

TIS: maintenance cost of a Ferrari too high

As you say that value is low, is it a Mondial? And why not try to find some place in Italy?

Re: Independent Ferrari mechanic

If it's just a regular service you're after, then it should be in the range of any decent mechanic (I'm guessing Zürich is too far away for you). Derendinger has all the consumables.

Look for a shop which services Alfas, run by grey haired guys.

Re: Independent Ferrari mechanic

Ferrari values have shot up and even unloved models, like the Mondial are shooting up in value. The problem is that you either have something mid engine, which requires engine out service to replace cam belts or the big front engined V12s (400/412) that are so complex that you could throw a handful of peanuts in the engine bay and not a single one would hit the ground!

So, what is it? Curious now!

Re: Independent Ferrari mechanic

For anyone in the Zurich/Uster area, I can recommend this one:

https://www.pienacorsa.ch/

If only to see what oldtimers they are serviving when you bring in your car

They can also do the "official"/warranty checks for a lot of cars
