Car transport

I need to take a car from a garage in Brig, Wallis to a garage in Alpnach, Obwalden. I am a TCS member but they have quoted me CHF750 because it counts as a transport not breakdown assistance. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers, Jamie,

Re: Car transport

It needs to go on a truck. It is over a 3 hour drive.

Re: Car transport

I want to take it to this specific garage as it is the garage I bought the car from a few weeks ago and he is willing to help out with the repair costs. I'm looking at a CHF10000 bill if I leave it where it currently is. The car costs 13500...

Re: Car transport

I transported a car from Lugano to Geneva in a closed truck and it cost CHF600. Suggest you ask the garage in Alpnach and maybe they have someone who can get you a better price.

Alternatively, rent a trailer and find a friend with a towing hook (or rent a car) and that may be way cheaper.

Did it break down (you mention breakdown assistance)? A professional seller should provide warranty for more than a few weeks, for parts and the repair work. The devil's in the contract, of course.
