but, if it was a "close family member", you don't have to say.., right..?
and anyway, I doubt 36 km/h (probably 25 in reality) is worthy of their attention..

And also quote "doing very stupid things"

What exactly was he doing? And how did it get so far as to get to that stage?

This only applies if they have identified you and sent a fine to you. If there is no fine how can they ask you to pay it? They can't fine you in your anonymous absence..
Had a colleague who had transgressed in Switzerland.
Returned here with his car on UK plates, went to a Pizza Restaurant in Zürich, came out and his car was clamped.
Called the police who said come and visit us with your credit cards, clear your debts and we will release the clamp!

Re: GB resident speeding in CH?

In my Zurich experience, fixed cameras only cover one side of the road... mobile cameras, on the other hand, flash speeders in both directions (including if you over take on the other side, coming towards the camera).

Also those big camera blocks always flash in my experience, only the small handheld/lamppost mounted ones do not.

So I would say you get anyway with it this time... but take heed as we have all be there... got the t-shirt (and the clamp)

Re: GB resident speeding in CH?

Hi guys just as a bit of an update, over 6 months have passed now and thankfully I have not heard anything. Fingers crossed. Not sure how long I will have to wait before I know I am in the clear...

You will know if you cross the border in years to come if you are clear.
