Service automobile not certifying Indian Driving license

Hello,

I have Indian driving license for non transport four wheeler and two wheeler.

I submitted my driving license in Switzerland to get the Swiss driving license and received below response from Swiss authorities :

"We refer to the administrative proceedings currently underway against you.
Incidentally, on the report of the Brigade forensic June 5, 2019, the authenticity of your Indian license has not been certified."

The driving license is valid as also I have already checked the authenticity on Indian govt. website (https://parivahan.gov.in) and its valid there.

Can you help me to suggest what should i do ?

Thanks for your help.

Are there any 'administrative proceedings' against you? If yes, it would help if you can share brief details.

Hi,

There is no administrative proceedings going on. This means proceedings of checking validity of my driving license.

I submitted my Indian driving license and got this reply.

Please let me know if any more information is required.

Thanks

Did they actually write that in English? I'm guessing the original was in German. It might help to post the original German text.

Hi,

It was in french
"Nous nous référons à la procédure administrative actuellement en cours à votre encontre.
A ce propos, au vu du rapport de la Brigade de la police scientifique du 5 juin 2019, l’authenticité
de votre permis indien n’a pas pu être certifiée."

The administrative proceeding is you changing the driving license, nothing else. They think the license is fake.

Nothing to worry about. The OP has already checked the validity of his license, just in case.

Who doesn’t double check their license is authentic when it’s been issued by their government?

I'd say if a government gives you the option to validate a drivers license that would be the first thing everybody would/should do after an exchange like this is refused based on another government saying it is not valid. It at least gives you the knowledge if your drivers license is properly in the registers as it should be.

Your post makes no sense at all.

Agree on this.

Especially if one is not from EU/US, some country's people do get to keep their original country's license after successful conversion, with a comment they cannot use it in CH.

It's very useful to know if my native country's license is still valid and not somehow invalidated due to conversion.

The correct term is checking the validity instead of authenticity

Authenticity = Is it real or fake

The text from the authorities is questioning authenticity, but even I would not have known how to prove that with my American license. It's got the biometrics and the bar code, maybe?

Re: Service automobile not certifying Indian Driving license

I'd try to point them towards the website where they can check it, and else see if the Indian government is willing to send you a properly stamped/signed letter about the passport.

You could start by asking the Swiss government what they would accept as proof.
