The new mid-engine Corvette

Pics here: https://www.motor1.com/news/360672/c...0-chevy-debut/

Do you like it or not?

I don't. Looks like just another super car and lost a lot of character.

Re: The new mid-engine Corvette

Given the fact that if I had this amount of money spare and had to spend it on a car I would not even consider a corvette I'd say: No I don't like it.

To be fair: a mid-engined 500 hp sports car for under 60k USD is not expensive at all. Its the opposite: suspiciously cheap.

If they want to earn money on it will they have to build it cheaply. Do I want a cheaply build car with 500 hp? Not really.

No, you miss the point, it's so the driver can change her knee into third gear and claim he was pushing buttons

I don't know, I quite like that. The steering wheel, on the other hand...

I think the car itself looks OK. The front really reminds me of the NSX. Not so much a fan of the rear lights.

From a 'bang for buck' perspective, you can't do too much better. For those wondering where the savings are made; the motor is pretty much from the old car and is quite 'agricultural' (Imagine how much power the Europeans could get from 6.2 litres!)

I'm not saying it is expensive for what it offers, I'm saying that I can find cars that I like much more than this one for that amount of money.

But also cheaper to maintain, which is a pro.

Re: The new mid-engine Corvette

it looks like it would be a fun car to drive for a day, if it didn't kill, but you wouldn't want to live with it and you certainly wouldn't want anyone you know seeing you in it, let alone knowing you bought one.

the moped of the car world lol

Re: The new mid-engine Corvette

It was designed locally.

Everyone knows that for an American product to sell well internationally and be uptodate, it needs a European designer. Just think of Apple and Jonathan Ives...

Re: The new mid-engine Corvette

I am pretty sure that design went through huge approval process by design experts (Not upto EF expert standards though ) before the release. Everyone has their own likes, dislikes and expert opinions.

With USD 60K entry price tag I believe it would be quite competitive in the market. I assume with all the bells + whistles this will come close to USD 100K range.

Anyways, There's something about the car that makes me like it
