Did anyone fly Luton to Geneva with easyJet today?

If so, did this really happen?

#easyjet beats @Ryanair to have backless seats. @IATA @EASA this is flight 2021 Luton to Geneva. How can this be allowed. @GeneveAeroport @easyJet_press @easyJet

Re: Did anyone fly Luton to Geneva with easyJet today?

Photoshop sensationalism..

It'll be in the dailymail tomoro though.

Edit :

Next tweet :

"One has to wonder how safe the rest of the plane was. This was her seat. The lady was moved to a spare seat once the flight was fully boarded. Not sure what would have happened if the flight was full."

Pure sensationalism, attention grabber .. Seat was broken, lady got another seat.. That's the story..

Apparently she was moved to another seat. So a non-issue

Oh, the bloke gets 5 minutes of fame over a non event and easyJet has to spend the next few days denying they’re bastards. The internet wins again

According to the DM article, Easyjet did demand the guy delete the photo, which is probably the best way to ensure the opposite actually happens. So bad crisis and containment management there.

Re: Did anyone fly Luton to Geneva with easyJet today?

I would imagine the Mail would have been happier if the flight was cancelled.

I see nothing wrong with them operating with broken seats as long as they are not in use during critical phases of the flight; taxi, take off, landing or whenever the seat belt sign is on. And there is no suggestion that the were.

Click bait ...

Maybe a backrest is an option in the booking process and they decided not to add it to the 1.99 ticket?

What amazes me is people really believe that EasyJet would have allowed anyone to actually use these seats during flight. The guy who posted it probably intended it as a joke.

Re: Did anyone fly Luton to Geneva with easyJet today?

I read a tweet from what looked to be a retired pilot saying that the seat behind wasn't safe due to not being able to perform the brace position correctly. Seats at the front are built into the plane specification as not having anything in front.

Not sure if that's true but it was on the internet so must be.
