Re: Suggest a new car to me

My wife has the smallest version of compact SUV CX3 and I considered getting myself CX5 Version as well. But this one looks even nicer.

Re: Suggest a new car to me

so we've bought a seat ateca, only slightly worse mpg then the TT, its new but at the dealer and fully loaded, oddly it has more standard kit then the Q3 for roughly half the price???? VAG pricing is a mystery, they have more or less copied the TT interior.

Its big, white and has a tow bar, so watch out drivers in switzerland, I'm taking no prisoners now!!!

Congratulations!
Seat and Skoda are spawn of the VW/Audi family, aren't they? So they share a lot of features (or copy features).

We just got a Hyundai Tucson, and we've found that Hyundai, and I presume Seat too as well as other manufactures package together a lot more options in their top end models that you must pay extra for in Audi, Volvo, etc.

Any chance of getting a specification list of what you got and an approx price tag? would be a good benchmark for others

Thanks

LOL its a Q3 with a different badge, apart from the Q3 having a bigger center screen you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 2, same engine, gearbox, interior etc etc and the seat has more toys then the Q3 and costs half as much.

OK the seat only comes with 5 years free servicing to the q3's 10 but as they are both limited to 100k km and I'll hit that long before 5 years is up its not an issue

Re: Suggest a new car to me

Usually, some options are not available on VWs cheaper brands - or not available initially.

E.g. you can get the A6 with air-suspension, but you can't get that on a Passat IIRC (nor on a Seat or Skoda).

Previously 360° cameras were only available with Audis (and Porsche, Bentley) but they became available on Passats and very recently on Skodas, too.

In some cases, as with the VW Sharan / Seat Alhambra "sisters", the cars are even built on the same production line.

that's one of the weird options, the seat has 360 cameras and you can rotate, scroll around etc etc, the Q3 just had static 360 camera , the seat also has that wave your foot under the bumper to open the boot, q3 - no, seat you can close the boot from the inside, Q3 - no, or course the Q3 has some gear the seat didn't but not useful stuff, we did go there to look specifically at the Q3 but in the end it was a no brainer, a few BHP more and a nice screen don't add up to 40k over the seat.

both 2019 models, both brand new

this is the only reason I bought the audi, its the 1.8 and gets 5l per 100km, which is better then a 1.6 focus! but I under estimated just how hated audi drivers are

now if there is another car out there with an interior anywhere near as nice as that I'd be on it in a flash.

all the other cars I looked at where just a mess inside, screens and buttons everywhere as everything was an add on extra or just designed by an idiot.

A wrap is an idea but not really sure it would solve the issue

Congratulations on the new car. But those two interiors are nowhere near similar

the dashboards are almost identical along with the steering wheel and although you can't see them, the seats. No buttons all over the place, not keen on the center screen, don't really see a point to it apart from filling a space.

1. White vehicles
The safest car color is white. White vehicles have a 12% lesser chance of accident involvement than black vehicles under all weather and lighting conditions. White provides a lot of contrast between the vehicles and their surroundings, making these cars easy for other motorists to see.

Sounds like you'll be all white...
(Except maybe dem snowy days )

No doubt that will change as more LED lights are used in street lighting.

Better start to like them. Those big screens are here to stay.
They're only going to get bigger. The only limit is what regulators will allow.

Already, Tesla is teasing youtube and games on their M3 screen.
Do you think other manufacturers are going to nope out of that?

that's what put me off the a class merc, way too many screens and way too big, really don't see the point of 3 ft wide screens in a car.

too much
