Re: Suggest a new car to me

here's the q3 interior for comparison, those black things next to the center screen are just decoration, before we got the keys it looked like a big odd shaped wrap around screen, such a disappointment when you turn it on and have the regular shaped / size screen in the middle, although it was the best screen I've ever seen in a car, really high def and crystal clear, google maps was faster and smoother then my high end gaming pc!!

My wife has the smallest version of compact SUV CX3 and I considered getting myself CX5 Version as well. But this one looks even nicer.

Ich habe auf AutoScout24 ein Fahrzeug gesehen, das dich interessieren könnte:

https://www.autoscout24.ch/de/557344...ource=whatsapp

We bought a Mazda CX3 in 2015, the year it was launched.

My wife wanted an auto, and AWD.

It's a great small family car. Boot space is pitiful and we fitted roof bars to carry skis. The GPS is rubbish.

It's been subject to 3 recalls, and has otherwise been faultless.

Mazda are launching a CX30 to sit between CX3 and CX5. Mazda's look great and are good value.

The GPS system is so user unfriendly! I gave it a go several times as I have been a passenger and to be able to set it up tight took several attempts. Imagine if you drive a car and want to set it up. Other than that, the car has been great and zero recalls from garage in Wettingen. It’s a really economic alternative and reliable car to many German marques wannabes. At least try it and you won’t be disappointed!

that's what put me off the a class merc, way too many screens and way too big, really don't see the point of 3 ft wide screens in a car.

too much

https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/Xn...s-interior.jpg

It's all in German too, that's not a lot of use really

Right. Suggest this “useless car” should be given away for free ...

Yep, I think this is just about the best current interior in a mid range car, plus the best tech in terms of form and function.

I hope your Seat isn't too laggy!

Re: Suggest a new car to me

Well, you have a pretty large array of options of how to arrange the content on the screen.
Audi/VW have this, too, as "Active Info Display", IIRC.

Plus, with the A-class, you could have talked to the car, in a casual way:

"Hey Mercedes, I'm cold."

and she'd turn up the temperature of climate control.
:-)

Though, the higher-spec AMG models especially are eye-wateringly expensive.

Apparently, Asians love those giant screens.
Most Americans aren't opposing them, so what you and I and the rest of Europe thinks is totally irrelevant for product-designers these days.

As I said, I think Tesla will (eventually) allow watching YT or playing games while the car is on autopilot in a traffic jam.

Americans or Asians dont buy A series. Thats a car designed entirely for the European market based on what Mercedes thinks the consumers want. Looking at this thread do I think they are right. I bought a used car without a screen... so I am not interesting to them. New car buyers seem to want a car that screams "I am new" and to do that do you have new toys. A friend of mine just got a CLA which I believe has the exact same interior and I must say the toys, for example the 360 camera are cool...

Re: Suggest a new car to me

The MBUX is coming to all cars.
A Class was the first, the new G and GLE got it, 2020s E class facelift will get it as well as C and S-class facelift. I think it's even in the new Sprinter commercial VAN.

BTW: A series is now also available in the US, for the first time.

Re: Suggest a new car to me

all those screens are just a distraction, don't remember what car is was on but saw pics of one that had a screen the entire width of the dashboard, just mental.

I saw a new Ateca today down near Interlaken. It did indeed resemble a Q3 and looked pretty smart in gunmetal grey.

Jeez you made some mileage in this thread but you could have kept it going for another 10 pages or so by explaining how everyone's opinion you asked for is wrong in true EF fashion!

Now all you need are some wheels to scare pedestrians!
