Re: 5-year-old fined 100 Swiss francs for travelling on bus without ticket

Do Ticino kiddy-winks actually go to school ?

Do they have such buildings in Ticino anyway ?

Yes, but they start a year earlier than up north as they are more mature for their age.

This reminds me of some folk I knew long ago. The two young urban teenagers spoke three languages, and had been in the academic stream of their schools, and would have gone to university had not the war-massacre occurred. They escaped on foot, and walked a few 100 km into dire nothingness until they were found, exhausted, by a humanitarian organisation and flown to Germany as refugees.

There, they were assessed by an intake social worker about their background. They were staggered at the level of ignorance about their country and, being teenagers and not really seeing the point of the assessment, replied cheekily.
  • Are their lions, where you come from? Oh, yes, lots!
  • How do you keep safe from them? Oh, we can run very, very fast!
  • What kind of home did you live in? In a tree-house.
  • And how did you get up into the tree? In the lift (elevator).

They have to be already potty trained to go to school.

Perhaps it takes longer up north?

Nobody uses potties any more. What century are you living in down in Ticino?

Apparently one where it is fine to put infants on buses unattended and to have sex with underage children, as long as they are prostitutes.

I'm sure the two are unrelated.
