Parking at Nyon station..

Any of you park there, the outside parking, north side of the track..?

What are the rules, are there zones or something?

I've only parked there twice, first time ok, second time a day later I got a fine.. From memory the sign said max 11 hours, the machine said 1chf / hour, max 11chf (maybe it was 12) .. I paid 8, sat the ticket in the window and got a fine for being there more than 6 hours.. I just paid since I couldn't be bothered going back to check, ask the cops etc.

But might need to park there tomorrow again, anybody know?

Re: Parking at Nyon station..

If you mean the Jura side of the tracks (which I think is west) that could be the Parking Martinet. From the Nyon website.

Quote:
PARKINGS COMMUNAUX

Parking in Nyon is crap! They keep taking out places (Perdtemps. Despite being full, has just lost more than 20 spots)

Yes that one.. Jura side.. Not Perdtemps.. Perdtempts is indeed crap.

So it does have zones.. I guess I must have parked and walked over to what I assumed was the correct machine. but I was parked in the wrong zone.
Damn annoying though, I paid 8chf, the ticket said 8chf on it.. Got fined for more than 6 hours.
It's pretty much just a big field, i didn't notice marked zones.. Hey ho, I'll check better tomoro .

This is why i usually take the bus everywhere.

Re: Parking at Nyon station..

Last I knew, it was a few years ago, it was all abonnement and you had to wait in the wee hours at nyon police station to get a spot for the forthcoming 6 month period or so. I didn't know you could have day tickets. I found it difficult even with the abonnement to get a place unless you arrived very early. And it was more parking sauvage with no lines and cars parking all directions not making good use of the space. So for all the effort, not a good outcome in my experience.

The multitiered car garage on the other side is better in that at least you'll have a spot and not get fined, but it's not the cheapest.
