| | Drivers Licence address change: do I need to send in my old credit card licence?
Hello everyone,
Maybe a bit of a silly question, but I've just changed my address online after moving. Online it seemed that I don't need to send in anything except for my grey car registration card, but then in the confirmation email it seems that I might need to send in my old licence. It's not very clear--or maybe I'm just confused..
Obviously I don't mind posting it but I'm going on holiday at the end of the week for two weeks and I need the licence to get a rental car! Oops. Not sure what will happen if I "forget" to post it.
Can anyone please clarify this?
Many thanks

Many thanks | | | | | There's normally no need to change your credit card driver's licence when you change address. What did it say in the confirmation email?

Is your address written on your license, or just your town? If you haven’t changed towns you don’t need it to be reissued.

If you got a drivers licence in a credit card format:
That one does not have an address printed on the card, so you are fine and have to do nothing.

What is a credit card license?
Is it some new fangled way to drive on credit?

If you have an "old", blue, A5-folded, paper license you must sent it in (with new photograph and filled in exchanged form) and you will get a "new", pinkish, credit card sized, plastic license.
If you have a "new" (issued since April 1st 2003), pinkish, credit card sized, plastic license the online address change notification is all you had to do.

And keep in mind that if you become Swiss, you need to change your licence and your ownership papers for the car(s). Both of these have your nationality on them. They will then show your Swiss "origin" details and the fact that you are Swiss.

I didn't change towns/communes but have already submitted the address change! I guess it's necessary for the car registration though?
Thanks to all for your replies. I should have checked here first!
