Re: Speeding ticket in Switzerland without proof?

Hi!
I recently got stoped by the Swiss police for speeding in an 80km/h area arround mountain passes. I was stoped on the spot where the police officer was using a small measuring device. I've been snooping arround forums and now understand I have commited a criminal offence and had to pay up 900CHF on the spot, deposit for legal actions agains me. But when that happened I demanded from the officer to show me proof of me speeding and he kept reffusing. I know I have a basic human right "to be pressumed innocent untill prooven guilty". I have not been given any proof of that jet had to pay up. I will most probably not recieve any photo of my face, driving that vehicle at that certain speed. If i take this to court it would be the police officer declaring under oath that I was speeding... jet no physical proof would be provided. That's the info I was able to collect so far. =(
Is that legal? Isn't that violation of my basic human right to be prooven to be guilty? In my country if you're speeding: 1st thing after checking your licence the officer would step to your window and show the number on the radar and another officer has to see that. Seems like the Swiss are in violation of human rights. Pls help... I just wanted to get home and am now a criminal on Switzerland.
They do have proof (on the gun and in taking down your details) they just didn't show it to you at the time. They will submit that evidence to the courts and you will be charged.

You know you were speeding and paid the fine, the rest will come later. What's hard to understand?

Re: Speeding ticket in Switzerland without proof?

The 900CHF is provisional as mentioned already, ahead of the court date

However, the Swiss don't care if you leave the country never to come back.
They'll pocket the 900. Same as they do impounded cars.

I presume OP is not resident here?

In any case, you're almost always guilty when speeding as per many results here https://www.google.com/search?q=uk%2...roven%20guilty

Re: Speeding ticket in Switzerland without proof?

You talk about your human rights, but what about the human rights of the person you may have slammed into at that speed? Speed limits are there for a reason, even if we sometimes think they are too low we still abide by them.

My advice is accept the fine, I doubt you'll see any change from the "deposit" and move on (at the correct speed limit that is!)

Yes, to make money.

No, we don't. we just learn when and where to speed without getting caught.

Well in truth I guess you're right there. I must try to be less sanctimonious in future.
