Re: Family car for 4: toddler and baby

We bought a Touran diesel with 5 seats, and a extra two in the back that fold down. Plenty of room, less than 20k on the dial for just over 22k a few years back. Very happy with it though sometimes we wish we had got the 2 litre instead of the 1.6.......

French cars always catch on fire. I'd refrain from it.

Re: Family car for 4: toddler and baby

I know they're not very sexy but you might want to consider a minivan.

We have a VW Golf station wagon and there isn't much room in the backseat for an adult plus two children's seats. It would be very cramped. Also, with a stroller in the trunk, it would have to go sideways and there wouldn't be very much room for lots of bags of groceries in there with a stroller. We only have one child but go camping in the summers and wish we had gone with something larger, like either an SUV or a minivan.

I am in the market for a used car that is large enough for a family of 4 that requires 2 car seats in the back and if possible an adult next to them, has plenty of cargo space and has all the usual safety features.
The adult next to the car seats, is that the MIL? Maybe a roof box will do.
Kidding aside, I suggest Volvo XC70.

Actually they don't, but never mind.

Try and keep things factual and on-topic on a car thread or provide a link to your claim.

Does personal experience of one car starting to burn and another new model dangerously overheating count, or would you like to see an insurance claim?
In addition, look at the newspaper articles, whenever a car is burning, it's almost always a Renault/Peugeot or a BMW 3-series.

Except those are U.S. figures and French cars aren't generally imported into the U.S.

Not true with the Ford S-Max.

The middle seat fits a child's seat or an adult. The last row is a bit low for adults though, but the Galaxy is an alternative if the extra headroom is needed.
Ford S-Max is a van.

Not in British English, it isn't.

We don't say mini-van and van is something like a Ford Transit (usually white in colour).

Instead of mini-van we say MPV or people-carrier.

Well, my uncle Willy did the only sensible thing. After the first Scenic catching on fire and the second new one almost catching on fire he switched to something Korean and is happy beyond belief.
Personally, other than a Volvo, I'd never drive anything European.

Well, if you already reached the stage when you've completely given up on life. . . kid number one is annoying and he's picked up horseback riding instead of (insert sport of your choice here), kid number two favors your wife and he's got that speech impediment, where you have to fork out the 150Chf every week into seeming eternity for a lesson with that homeopathic specialist. . .and your wife wanted that expensive kitchenaid machine, which sits comfortably in a far away corner of the tiled ktichen, because let's face it, your wife was right, tile is so much more Feng-Shui and it helps her relax. . yes my friend, life's got you by the scrotum in her freshly manicured hands but you still got some bite behind the menthol cigarette bark and you don't want to go out like a whimp. Because that's what Larry did and Larry got taken to the cleaners, after lawyer fees, yes that shyster lawyer who got recommended by his cousin, well all Larry owns now are roughly 9 pints of blood, because it's Tuesday and Tuesday was donation day. Anyways, long story short. Here is something which still shows that you care. . .that the fight is not over yet, the whole horeshit-riding thing might just be a phase and the smoking-hot intern did indeed flirt with you by the watercooler.

I present you, a Cadillac (Pronunciation: KKa-duh-lllagg make sure to pronounce it loud and proud, like you just did your boss' wife and brag about it at a company BBQ after you just got fired)

https://www.autoscout24.ch/de/d/cadi..._asc&vehtyp=10

Also, it distinguishes you from the crowd and is a step above any Kraut Mobile anybody at the office may drive. "No Rainer, I've never had a problem with my Cadillac, smooth as butter I tell ya, wish I'd bought one sooner"
This post reads like that old spice advert.. Look at your world, now back at ours. Sadly your world is not ours, but at least you can smell like our world!

Watching old spice adverts doesn't make me a seasoned expert, just got too much thyme on my hands.

What about a Ssang Yong Rodius?
One of its qualities is that its name is better than its looks.
Also recommended if you don't want a third child as it will make any sex appeal vanish.

On the other hand, OP might prefer being quarantined at home than being seen in a Rodius. In which case, a 3rd child will soon come along
