Hello all,

First of all I would like to thank everybody for their replies. Even the sarcastic ones I appreciate very much. I come from a region of Europe where sarcasm and irony are the modus operandi, so I need to say that some of the replies made me feel like in downtown Bucharest. A touch of home in an expat forum in the Swiss Confederation, coming from people that stem from various parts of the world. I have to say that I have really missed this. The Swiss (and Germans) have no understanding of sarcasm.

And now to the important point of the topic. From an acquaintance I have here I found out that the Car Wash near the McDonalds Drive in in Schlieren was always open and still is every day until 7:00 PM. I went there. So if anyone has a similar issue as myself, over the weekend the Car Wash in Schlieren next to Mcdonalds is open. I do not know if they will be back to 24/7 from Monday as I did not ask.

Thank you all for making my evening better with your replies. Both the ones that helped and the ones that were just kvetching.
If you want to experience the full Bucharest feel, I could wash your car at the car wash port in my parking garage for free. I'll come and pick it up around noon so and return it shortly after, I promise.

You put in petrol, have it serviced regularly and it will get you from a to b.
Why wash it?
It is not going get you there there any quicker. And after washing it, you probably feel the need to polish it. Guys are strange.

I drive a Yeti and I can assure you it is not rabid.

Many of the commercial car washes are water neutral. Not sure how it works but they only use a soup-son of water.
Basically the water gets recycled. And the road salt too!

I always wash my car once it is so dirty that my clothes get dirty. Apart of that, I agree. Especially in the winter it is strange to have a shiny car.
Mine only gets a wash if a bird has deposited poo on the bodywork, I donít bother otherwise.

It was that moment that you realize who has money and how's a show-off who went for the most expensive model but can't afford covered parking.

do you also expect them to eat with silverware at home? own home? not lease, but own that vehicle?

fyi, covered parking is not available everywhere.

I once had a bird do that. We split up shortly afterwards.

I normally don't care much about washing the car, but sometimes.... it just can't be ignored!

Re: Washing cars during COVID-19 pandemic

This May be irrelevant now, but Oscar Car Wash remained open during the lock down, although the self cleaning bays and vacuuming area was shut.

Interested to hear how many people donít want to bother cleaning their cars. Iím the complete opposite. I regularly clean my cars. Why? Well, I want them to look their best and when they are clean and shiny, they look great.

Oh c'mon, it's still quarantine time. I let my hair grow wild and I didn't wax my legs. I change from day pyjamas to night pyjamas. Why should my car get a better treatment?

Find it kind of stylish n trendy. I can see guys ordering their next car in the COV19 two tone look and even paying a premium for it. Yeh! I think I'll choose that Sea Blue Metallic with the frosted Yellow.

I never understood people that does not take care of their stuff, I really don't

Something that costs that much, why wouldn't you do a little effort and keep it in good state so it lasts longer and remains more reliable?

Re: Washing cars during COVID-19 pandemic

Washed the car today. Just for the hell of it. Or maybe it was the grimy black rims of the newly mounted summer tires that inclined me to do so.

He must be an Australian. But he's not. In Australia I always washed and polished my Alfa on a Sunday. It was a tradition. And all the greasy water used to flow openly into the drains
