Information on which roads are open/closed to motorised traffic?

Ideally I'd like to find a map of which segments of mapped roads/forest roads/ etc lie behind this sign and which do not. That is, where can a random person (without special permission, such as being a resident/farmer of that specific area) drive a car or motorcycle?

This is interesting to know both for where one can drive and for where one can walk/cycle without motor traffic or without listening to traffic noise reverberating across the landscape.

TCS compiles seasonal mountain road closures and other road conditions. Their map has a color coding for conditions - I assume if they give a road a color, it is at least sometimes open to cars/motorcycles. Yet there are also road segments that do not have a color yet are open to cars/motorcycles, so it seems not totally complete in more remote locations.

map.geo.admin.ch maps the type of road/path but does not seem to have information about permitted uses. However, the layer 'daytime road traffic noise' seems to be fairly accurate on the noise question (not sure about the permission question).

Any other sources of information (aggregated CH-wide)?

I've never given it much thought but I would expect nowhere unless the road thru the forest is shown as two parallel lines on the map. I'd also expect that roads that provide access to a forest are behind the sign you show (or a similr one), and that they're shown as a single line (solid or dotted) on the map.

Art. 15 Forest Act https://www.admin.ch/opc/en/classifi...index.html#a15
Quote:
1 Forests and forest roads may only be accessed by motorised vehicular traffic for forestry purposes. The Federal Council regulates the exceptions to be made for military and other public tasks.

2 The cantons may authorise access to forest roads for other purposes if this does not jeopardise forest conservation or other matters of public interest.

3 The cantons provide traffic signals and signs and the necessary controls. If signals, signs and controls are not sufficient, barriers may be installed.
Or in other words, even if there is no sign, as it is often the case in the Jura, driving with motorized vehicles on forest roads is not permitted.

Dotted means footpath. Driving on them is forbidden by Art. 43 Abs. 1 SVG https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classifi...index.html#a43
Quote:
Paths which are not suitable for motor vehicles or bicycles or are obviously not intended for them, such as footpaths and hiking trails, may not be used by such vehicles.
Translated using deepl.com

Single black line are most often roads closed to motor traffic. Red dot denote a barrier/obstacle which in general means that the road is also closed for motor traffic.

And sorry, no, I will not tell you how you can find the roads which are open.

TIS, so there are exceptions and it may not include smaller woods which are usually signed if traffic is not allowed. I find google maps a quick rough guide. If it shows you a tortuous route from A to B by car but not by bike/walking you should be good, but locals may be allowed to get to their houses by car

Re: Information on which roads are open/closed to motorised traffic?

Thanks for the replies.

Swiss topo maps are amazing, I am always discovering new details. I didn't know about the little red dots. They are so small I had to ask myself, am I only seeing them because of the suggestion? But yes they are there

A few further questions:
In official Swiss documents, 'Fahrräder' would mean bicycles specifically, not motorcycles?

And, 'Verbot für Fahrzeuge aller Art' would also mean that normal bicycles are not allowed?
