Bike carrier for Skoda Yeti.

We are having our bikes upgraded to e-bikes at a shop in Prilly/Lausanne. To get the two bikes there I took out the rear seats and squeezed them in the back, secured with bungie cords.

This is not going to work for the return so I am looking for a rear mounted bike carrier. Not something that needs to be professionally installed.

We likely would also use it, when the lockdown lifts, to get the bikes up the mountains.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to the type and make that might work for me?

Thank you in advance.

Friend of mine has an official internal bike rack for his Yeti. Even though the Yeti is history I guess it might still be available. Carries 2 bikes internally safely no problem, basically you remove the front wheels and fit the forks to the carrier somehow.

Re: Bike carrier for Skoda Yeti.

Anything towbar mounted would work but do check the load capacity of the carrier can carry 2 Ebikes so you need about 60kgs to be on the safe side.

No towbar? Then I would look for a 2nd hand one on tutti or ricardo, maybe poke your head under a Yeti to see mounting arrangements to see if you can do it yourself. Providing you can see the tail lights clearly you do not need a trailer plug or approval for towbar but you must remove the ball/tongue when the carrier is on.

For one-time use, just remove the front wheel and chuck them in the back.
For regular use, I highly recommend a towbar + carrier setup
