Not sure, they were both closed last Thursday and we had to turn back as well. My colleague in Luino who we were visiting told me Fornasette was closed due to the bad weather and road condition. When we saw Ponte C closed we thought he'd muddled the two so carried on, but Fornasette was also shut so back we went!!
Yes, that's what we did yesterday.

Rovio/Valmara?

Is it good idea to go shopping across the border in Waldshut this week?

I doubt it will be different in Waldshut.

Spent the day shopping in Geneva, the border guard's were still working from home when I crossed Thonex-Vallard at 9.00 this morning

Border crossing VD France at Crassier/Crassy (i.e. Nyon-Divonne) well and truly open. No officials on either side.

Maybe they are trying to convey the message: “Now you are on your own mate!”
And judging by active cases in the neighbouring countries, they have a point

Re: Swiss border opening - current situations

I spent the afternoon in Jestetten and it is honestly the quietest I have ever seen it. I seriously did not spend any time waiting for anything except for the zoll stamp on the way back to CH. No queues for checkouts, no stopping at the border on the way in and not even 15 min of waiting for the usual line of 2km of traffic while I try and exit the Edeka carpark. Not bad!

Swiss-Italy Border Crossings

Does anyone have any info on when the Swiss-Italian borders open without restrictions?

Re: Swiss-Italy Border Crossings

According to WRS the other day CFF service to Milan will restart from Geneva/Lausanne and Zurich/Basle on Monday 29 June. But take some masks.

That's a misleading article as it only refers to direct service to Milan; there are multiple daily train connections to Milan.

I took the train from Lausanne to domodossola and then a train to Milan. There wasn't any restrictions except compulsory masks

Re: Swiss-Italy Border Crossings

They just made a mistake. There was a press release yesterday from SBB announcing the gradual restoration of the EC services from Zurich and Geneve to Milan, with the extensions to Venice scheduled to be restored at the beginning of September.

But the regional trains from Tessin to Milan are already running.
