Cheapest van rental in Zurich?

Hi all,

I need to rent a small van (have to throw away an old, quite big, sofa) - what would be the cheapest option?

Consider I want to do this on a Saturday.

Let me know!
Thanks

Re: Cheapest van rental in Zurich?

It really depends on what day you're renting and what the demand is. Prices fluctuate all the time. (Also, depends on whether you need automatic or manual, whether you want it for just an hour or the whole day, etc., etc.) Good luck finding a good option!

Re: Cheapest van rental in Zurich?

In Zurich, you can dispose of your sofa for free, if you can get it to the Cargotram on foot, with a trolley, balanced on a bicycle or two (I've seen that done) or by public transport (just not by car) .

Here's the info, and you can click on the pdf to see the days and places it stops. It's always a the end of a tram line. Depending on where you live, it is sometimes easier to traverse the city, rather than to have to change bus or tram. Naturally, you can take bulky items on a bus or tram only outside of rush-hour. Or by hacking them up into smaller, mor manageable bits, to tie onto a small trolley, for example.

Re: Cheapest van rental in Zurich?

You could also look up "man with a van" on this forum, or write directly to confloozed or to simpa.

Depends on what you needs are. ETH has a cheap one without insurance but you need to be student of employed.

Some shops offer good deals once you buy at least 1 furniture item from them, e.g. we rented from Interio was a huge van and a the best deal we could find.

Most sofas would fit into a Mobility Mercedes Vito van, so unless you have a really big one that would be the cheapest option.

Yep this is your best bet. I have done this a couple of times to transport furniture.
