Expertise/MFK: can I do this without having my rear seats installed?

Quick question: I have to take my car (Subaru Justy) for its expertise and have had it serviced by a garage. I the meantime I've had to use the car to transport stuff around the rear seats have been removed to make more space.

Do I need to put the seats back in? I would have to take them out again straight afterwards as I still need to transport a bunch of stuff using the car, so would like to avoid the extra work if its not necessary. I assume we only need seats for me and the tester.

I don't have the answer but I'd just ask my garage. They know all about the the irks and quirks of MFK.

They test the seat belts. Whether they can test them successfully without the seats you need to ask the exam center

Well if the seat belts are seat mounted you're golden, they can't test what's not there. Same as old bikes electrical systems or indicators.

From a quick google it looks like the Justy has wall mounted seatbelts so I don't know how the MFK would look.

there are even people that take the front seats out, but I doubt you would pass the MFK like that.

Actually that video reminds me of the first Japanese business car I got: It was not possible to push the seat back far enough to drive comfortably. They ended up exchanging the seat rails. While this would have been a solution.

I take it, I was not the only European with that problem, models after that one were equipped properly.
