For now, I think we'll just stick with our new instant cabin tent. It literally goes up in 2 minutes and has awesome ventilation. We love it. Only $300 including shipping, from the US. I wouldn't mind renting a caravan at some point, though -- just to try it out. But I always wondered if they get really hot inside. | | | | |
We have the decathlon "fresh and black" air beam tent.. Up in around 10 minutes including all the pegs and bits and pieces.. It actually works, remains relatively cool and pretty dark inside, even in direct 30 degrees sunshine.
We spend most of the time outside of course but does make a difference in the mornings.

If you don’t subscribe you likely can get a copy at La Combe or another Migros. | | | | | Or you can get it online: https://issuu.com/m-magazin/docs/mig...n-29-2020-f-ne |

| | Re: Anybody got a caravan? | Quote: | | | | | Driving with a trailer/caravan is pretty straightforward, just watch your speed top speed in CH is 80 km/h as I found out to my cost the first time I drove one here at 100! | | | | | It is also 80kph in Italy and other countries, not just here.
Anyway, I've certainly done 130 here with a bike trailer no problem.

I've seen those inflatable ones before and wondered if people were happy with them -- how well they hold up, etc. Our last tent took well over an hour to set up (for one thing, it was HUGE) and after doing it in 34 degree heat a few summers ago, my husband finally gave me the "okay" to order an instant one. The bigger issue with the old tent, though, was the lack of ventilation (no windows in the back sleeping area). It was like a sauna in there, during the day.

Next question..
Just pinged an email to my garage (dealer) asking about tow-bars..
Would I be correct to assume that fitting a tow-bar would require a new MFK /control? Update to the grey card? Being that this is Switzerland after all .. possible insurance change?

the Fahrzeugausweis must be updated. Costs about 50 CHF and usually is done by the garage where you are installing the tow bar. that is everything.
