| | Travel to UK
Hi all,
long shot but I need to get back to the UK and flights are proving to be a nightmare with nothing direct.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Is TGV and Eurostar viable?
Driving / Channel Tunnel...
Any advice appreciated. Ideally I want to set off tomorrow.

Just keep in mind that you need to complete a form earliest 48 hours beforehand? Otherwise they can deny you entering the country
Do not have the link here right now, something on gov.uk and provide journey details before travel

Swiss and BA both have a couple flights a day Geneva Heathrow. I’m sure that Zurich would have at least that.

From Zürich there are 3 Swiss flights and 1 BA flight most days. Also a couple of Easyjets per week. From Basel 1 Easyjet most days. You haven't been doing your homework.
All possible tomorrow with seats available except Easyjet ex Zürich. Basel-LGW is the cheapest.

Fly to London, take the train. Or there's a direct flight on Thursday. Or Lufthansa via Frankfurt or Dusseldorf.

Check Google Flights? That at least will give you an idea what is possible and what is the shortest flight.
Good luck!

Have had a nightmare with getting flights to Manchester. If you’re in a hurry I’d book to Gatwick (EasyJet) or Heathrow (Swiss & BA) and then hire a car!
And you don’t need to fill out a form. No quarantine from Switzerland to UK & vice versa!
Edit: looks like I was wrong about form.... but no penalty if you don’t do it once https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-c...fore-travel-uk and imagine they’d let it go for last min emergency travel. And you have to do it less than 48 hours before travel.

Had your first post stated that your father is very ill and you need to fly to Manchester, the responses would have been much more friendly....

You must complete this form before you arrive in the UK. You cannot submit the form until 48 hours before you’re due to arrive in the UK.

I used the Eurotunnel last Sunday to Folkestone - no problem but they did send me an email the day before to fill out an online form asking lots of questions. You need to hand it in to the UK customs booth. I printed mine off but you can show it on your phone with the code that they send you when you have filled the form in.

Yeah that's not what's generally (or ever) considered a notice period. Either the OP misunderstood you or misunderstands the term "notice period". This is the something-resembling-english forum.
