Wingmirrors - UK / Europe

Hi all,

A bit of a weird question, but maybe somebody can help.

I need to replace the wingmirror on my (European LHD) Honda. It's proving very hard to find here in Switzerland 2nd hand, so I'm checking eBay UK.

Does anybody know if a UK left (passenger side) wingmirror is likely to be the same as the left (driver side) wingmirror here in Europe?

I can actually use the existing glass on my wingmirror, it's just the body I need to replace. I don't see any reason why the mirror body would differ, but maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks for any help

It depends on your vehicle. Take a look at your existing mirrors. On my Alfa Romeo, there would be no issues but on my VW, the driver side mirror is different than the passenger side.

Thanks, I'll take a look... would you suggest just looking at both from the middle of the car and seeing if there's a noticeable difference?

That and take some quick measurements. On my VW (T5), it is pretty obvious (~4:3 format on the drivers side and ~3:4 format on passenger side).

BTW, I bought mine at kfzteile24.de

Search for "Abdeckung, Aussenspiegel" with your car model.

Re: Wingmirrors - UK / Europe

Look at ebay germany or even france for a second hand unit. If you can sit in your passenger side and adjust the mirror so it would be suitable for a RHD car then the same might be true of the UK mirror. Part numbers will tell you if the part is exactly the same.

Re: Wingmirrors - UK / Europe

Well I ordered one from the UK, and fitted it fine.

I changed the mirror glass itself as the UK glass is different, but the wingmirror body seems to be exactly the same.

If anyone else has the same question, it's a Honda Civic Mk 8
