| | Denounciation Fees?
Hello
I have recently received a fine/fee for Denounciation from Service des Automobiles.
I changed insurer recently as they would not offer me a contract for the next year based on a large claim. I was not aware that this would result in a penalty/fee?
Does anyone have experience with this process and can shed light on why 200fr to change insurer?
Thanks!

You need to update the grey card, I suspect its a fine for failing t do so.

Good question!
There wasnt as far as i understood it, but may have been inadvertantly, as I was not aware I had to physically go in to change the grey paper (I assumed it would be sent to me).
I was supposedly covered by new insurer, but the grey form was not updated.
Does this constitute a gap?

Seems somewhat punitive, or is this just standard swiss rates?

CH can have expensive fees for minor mistakes.

Thanks for the help here.
I guess there is little point trying to challenge it!

Standard and usual Swiss rate for not doing things not on time which should have done as prescribed by the law, ordinance, or explicit demand by the authorities. Like putting garbage out too early, not change registration/address with commune (and also SAN which has to be done independently) within 14 days of the move, etc.
See it from the bright side: consulting a lawyer would have been more expensive.
There is only one gray card per car. They cannot simply send you an new one. The new insurance coverage is only activated once you actively get a new gray card with the updated insurance details and surrender the old one. This can be done comfortably by mail.
