Rent a trailer and drive it to Germany

Anyone knows if it is possible to rent a swiss trailer, hitch it on a swiss car and drive it across the border to Germany to drop some stuff, and then bring it back? Will there be any issues on the borders, and are there any special rules applying in Germany (different to the ones in CH when it comes to driving a car with trailer)? The trailer will be up to 750KG and should be covered under my usual BE driver's license. Thanks!

AFAIK German borders are shut to non-essential travel so thatís going to be your biggest issue...

Correct. Forgot to mention that the trip is not planned for right now, but rather later when the borders will be open.

Re: Rent a trailer and drive it to Germany

I've borrowed my friend's many times to bring bikes to/from Italy, never a problem, just make sure that your car is legal for towing, and that you have the paperwork for the trailer.

I even once borrowed my friend's car as well, as I didn't have a tow vehicle at the time.
