Course cost for probationary driving licence

Hello folks,

My son exchanged his EU driving licence to a Swiss licence recently.
He has been asked to undergo a course with any driving school listed at https://2-phases.ch/

1. Any idea how much such a course will cost?
2.For this course, does he need to take his own car or should use the car feom driving school?
3. What are the implications, if he can't attend the course, within 12 months, due to pandemic?

Re: Course cost for probationary driving licence

My son did it a couple of years ago.

1. The cost was around 350 chf I think. It was a bit more expensive if he wanted to do it on a Saturday.
2. They use the cars from the driving centre so no need to take a car.
3. I’m sure they will make allowances if it is impossible for him to do the course during that time due to the pandemic. Given that driving tests and lessons are all taking place now I think it’s unlikely to be the case.

It is a full day course at a special track and they learn how to drive in specific conditions etc. It used to be two courses but is only one now.

Re: Course cost for probationary driving licence

I did mine last December.

1. The cost was 400 chf, and the course lasts one workday (approx 7-8 hours)
2. The place where I went to offered both options, you could either come with your own car or rent one of theirs. A vast majority of people opted to come with their own car.
3. I guess unless there is really a full lockdown, the courses will be proceeding normally. On my course physical distancing was observed, including masks worn at all times (incuding the instructor). Also plenty of hand sanitiser was provided everywhere by the organisers.
