Re: Ready to pay more at the pump?

I don't think it'll take weeks to clear - that range is from the CEO of the salvage company, so it's the equivalent of when a garage tries to tell you the car needs a complete overhaul and not just the pads changed.

But it does highlight the vulnerability of oil as a fuel.

Re: Ready to pay more at the pump?

Freight rates are though the roof obviously, not just on tankers but also on containers which were already high. Seeing how narrow the (extended) canal is in relation to 400m long ships, it is actually surprising how rare problems like this are. All things considered, the Suez Canal Authority is probably the most professional outfit in all of Egypt.

Not in Switzerland - who really looks at the cost of fuel as a factor in using their car?

Actually! There was an alternative plan in the 60s. But it never got done.

Is this a joke? 520 nukes? Would have turned Negev, Sinai and half of Jordan into glass.

According to my Facebook feed, that is all Biden's fault. Don't ask me how talented the man must be to influence fuel prices in Europe, but apparently he's good...

But at least the sides wouldn't have been sand so it wouldn't have got stuck.

And they could see where they are going because of the glow.

Wot! Did you not know that Mercedes is working on a torsion rope drive made with silk?

Spin that sucker up at the Tanke and off you go.

You know from the start a plan is legit if it involves nuclear bombs.

Yes, there are lovely 911s everywhere you look. But a good third of passenger cars in Switzerland use diesel as fuel.

These car owners and drivers presumably care about fuel prices. If not why buy a diesel in first place? Only for the D/diesel/turbo badge?
