I don't think it'll take weeks to clear - that range is from the CEO of the salvage company, so it's the equivalent of when a garage tries to tell you the car needs a complete overhaul and not just the pads changed.
But it does highlight the vulnerability of oil as a fuel.

Freight rates are though the roof obviously, not just on tankers but also on containers which were already high. Seeing how narrow the (extended) canal is in relation to 400m long ships, it is actually surprising how rare problems like this are. All things considered, the Suez Canal Authority is probably the most professional outfit in all of Egypt.

These car owners and drivers presumably care about fuel prices. If not why buy a diesel in first place? Only for the D/diesel/turbo badge? |

Doesn’t affect me because a) I don’t buy Chinese clothes or cheap kids toys b) I only eat fish and only locally caught c) I am very picky about products from Asia and try to support local industries d) I drive a Tesla so.... good luck! |
