Nichtbeachten eines lichsignals [running a red light]

I just received a 250 Sfr fine in the mail. It is for running a red light which I know not to do. General Guisan Quai / General Wille Strasse.

The fine is for light being red for 1.7 seconds which I know is a massive amount in relative terms. Trying to recollect this I believe I was delayed crossing the junction because of cars bunched up in front of me. I think someone was reverse parking ahead of them causing this delay.

I was actually fined 5 years ago at the same spot for the same offence. That time I dabbed the throttle because I had a heavy load on the roof rack which I wasn't confident to brake on. That translated to a 0.5 second offence. By comparison 1.7 seconds is an eternity.

Is there a mechanism for querying a fine without not paying it? I know spending any time on this is not worth it, but this is just rude.

Regards,

Andrew
