Zurich Airport - lounge situation/ somewhere to work

I may have to travel next week and need to have somewhere quiet to sit, work and take a few hours of video calls before the flight. In normal times I would use my Priority Pass and access a lounge but all the paid ones are closed due to COVID, and the restaurants and cafes seem to be closed for table service. I called up ZH airport and they told me that only the Swiss Senator lounge is open (no food or beverages) but you still need a Swiss business class ticket.

Any other ideas?

Radisson hotel? Swiss lounge is also open if you have a silver or gold star alliance card.

Unfortunately I don't have silver or gold. With regards to the Radisson, that would be ideal but I don't think they would be too happy with me nursing a coffee for several hours :o

Depending on when it is, I live in Wallisellen, 12 mins from the airport, happy to offer you a chair in my place to do your calls.

Regus has office spaces in the airport.

Thanks alot roegner, the issue is my last call ends 1:30hr before the flight so it would be cutting it extra fine, especially if there are extra security, PCR checks etc.. at the airport.

Worst case I guess I can park myself in a quiet seat somewhere near a gate, hopefully it won't be too busy.

If you know any Senator flying the same day, (and you fly Swiss), you can ticket-jack them at the entrance and tag along to enter the lounge.:D

A couple of spots where there are not many people
(a) after the passport control, take left, before you reach the senator lounge, in front of the 'interdisciplinary faith' area - 'day hotel' (there is some sitting area in front), and that area is "announcement free". I have never seen anybody sitting on that area!
(b) if you are travelling to EU, it is going to be more difficult to escape to a non-announcement area...the upper level right above gates A50 - A59 is not very busy
best of luck!

I'm not quite sure whether the following is accurate, but I seem to remember a set of tables and chairs or benches, set aside, in a surprisingly quiet passage.

Have a look at this video. https://youtu.be/n8lJh7_06Go (Like so many info videos, this one is easier to follow with the sound switched off).
At 3:17 to 3:19, you can see the main concord with the two large staircases going up to the left and right. The place I mean is (if I recall correctly) up the right-hand flight of stairs. At the top of those stairs, you'd turn right to get to the pay machines for parking, but turn left to get to the tables.

At the far right of the image, in the background, you can just make out a man in a blue jacket, with silver hair. The tables are, I think, one storey above where he is walking.

Perhaps someone who's been there recently could supply a better description.

Yes, correct. On the same level of the buses outside (tram farther behind) enter and cross a glass bridge to the back if you enter that entrance. The tables closest to the windows (overlooking arrival 1) have electric points too for charging. There are 2 coffee machines and tables are now (COVID) 1 person only on one side so busier than normal.

It has to be the same flight though, they changed that a couple of years ago.

I think it depends on airline policy. If you are flying with an other Start Alliance company but Swiss it will also depend on their rules as they're the ones paying for the passenger & +1/family.

Depending on how early you arrive and if you don't mind paying, most of the hotels in the airport area do a day room deal https://www.dayuse.com
