| | SBB App - Dog
Anyone know how you buy a ticket or day pass for your dog on the SBB app? Website says it’s possible, but I can’t figure out how (don’t want to go through ticket buying process when not travelling, but would like to know in advance of travel). Thanks

I’ve figured it out - just after posting. Duh!
Just put in the route you are travelling. Select tickets. Open “more tickets” option and dog day pass is there (as is bike pass). I assume if travelling a short journey, you just buy another 1/2 fare ticket in your name.

Apparently SBB now allow you to buy a GA for your dog at a much cheaper price - something like 350 instead of 800 but it’s no longer transferable and is linked to your own Swiss Pass which is catching people out.

Don't kids travel for free up to age 6? How old is the mut?

Yeah and the kids get a seat - unlike the dog who pays!

I assume you’re in quarantine and the dog is travelling alone? |

You can't buy a ticket for the dog on the app. You can buy a day pass, but that's the same as a ticket. You can buy a 1/2 ticket at terminal at the station. The conductors are usually forgiving if you don't get the dog pass and get help you get it on the train. I bought the annual pass for CHF 360 in the end.

Can't add dog as second passenger. I tried. Basically it asks for age and the dog is less than 6 and passengers less than 6 are free. So it's not the same. |

I have my bike listed as “Velo” for my second passenger and have used it on shorter distance routes.

You just need to make sure you end up with the right price ticket.
