I am driving a BMW with driving assist professional plus and it automatically switched from 120km/h to 85km/h i.e. 80 + some safe margin. I thought it was an error from the car and annoyed raised the speed to 100km/h, a few seconds later got flashed (
The driving assist can be a little tricky. Also in Horgen when driving down from the highway, at the coop the limit is 50 degrees. The car recognizes this but when going up the hill on the same stretch, it displays 60 as the speed limit.

I dont think that a floor marking alone is actually legal in CH. I guess it is a "Begegnungszone", but then it needs a sign like this:https://qimby.net/image/412/beginn-e...szone-tempo-20
I'd be interested to know this as well - unlike CO the traffic laws aren't translated and have a huge number of parts so beyond me to understand convincingly.

The other way can also be annoying - there are a couple of places where mine always sees the lower speed limit on a motorway exit and slows me down or beeps madly.

I guess I need to put more attention. Don't remember the Begegnungszone sign, maybe it's there next but never seen it Anyway, the numbers on the street floor are large enough.

The street where the sign should be is not on google's street view. That wizardry has not arrived to Ruebliland :P https://www.google.com/maps/@47.3918...7i13312!8i6656

this happens when it's based on outdated map data instead of actually detecting a traffic sign.
I think these things are just not going to work unsupervised on arbitrary routes without infrastructure to vehicle communication.

The sign detection on mine is pretty good - the only thing it really has trouble with is the end of restriction / normal limit applies sign, particularly where it's above the lane like on a motorway. The sign isn't a good design, with no obvious border so on a light background it just looks like a diagonal black rectangle.

ps And also the little advisory notes below signs - if it detects one it doesn't apply the limit, which is stupid since the advice almost always applies to stuff other than cars. Would be good to have an option to always apply the limit, or even "apply the most restrictive limit" as a fail safe.

Perhaps the signpost in the heap of snow is probably what's been overlooked. Yes, the sign is needed, markings on the ground alone are not enough.
