I've been paying the standard membership for years, just blindly renew.. I've called them out once, when I miss-fuelled the car :-/

Today I read on the renewal letter that there are lots of benefits of being a member, not just breakdowns.. I took a quick look on the website and see loads of cash back offers..

Anybody use this? How does it work? Worth it? What other stuff am I missing?

1. I canceled them after they failed to provide me the help to only time I needed them. After the cancellation they looked into it and apologize for their error (it was the error of the operator, blablabla), but IMHO they are much more expensive than similar mobile-help connected to my vehicle
2. IMHO cash-backs and coupons just try to stir you to buy more than you wanted or something that you didn't want to. Usually, somewhere with inflated prices. Internet is full of "-30% if you order in next hour"

Pre-pandemic, when we were traveling to the US 6-10 times per year, our TCS membership saved us a tidy sum on parking at the airport. IIRC there is something like a 15% discount. Certainly saved us many times the cost of membership.

When my old car dying a slow death, I called TCS several times for help. Can't praise them highly enough. They usually arrived in under 15 minutes. (We're not far from a depot.) I've always had great service from TCS.

Sometime back, my BIL managed to convince them to exchange summer/winter tyres on site - how was he to know that winter was coming

Check your auto insurance policy - I discovered that mine had breakdown cover as part of my coverage, and TCS was basically just buying duplicate coverage that I already had.

Dead battery jump in the middle of winter! Came to house within 15 mins
