Anyone successfully flown between MAN and BSL? I'm fed up with flights showing up and being cancelled at the last minute and wondered if anyone is doing regular flights and which airlines you are using to do this trip?

Are they being cancelled regularly? Oh, my…I have tickets to see Genesis in Manchester (which I bought many moons ago before the breakout of the pandemic). I’m wondering if I shouldn’t plan a massive contingency plan and just fly 2 days in advance. |

The only reliable route is ZRH-MAN with Swiss.

Hi folks,
[from my recent post]
Looks like our EasyJet flights Basel to Manchester are about to get cancelled again (First flight Basel to Manchester is now listed as 31 October on their booking page).
Is anyone else fed up with EasyJet’s “service” out of Basel, or is it just me.
We’ve so many vouchers it’s getting hard to manage now.
“Angry from Manchester” is a line out of the great Del Amitri song from the 90s “Nothing ever Happens”…As an individual, I feel there’s little influence I can have, but maybe as a larger group of disgruntled Basel flyers we can “make something happen”?
Thanks all
Solo

As noted in a later reply, the earliest non-cancelled flight is in October.

I've got Elton John tickets for June 2022, hopefully that will actually happen |

You actually want easyjet to fly mostly empty aeroplanes?
Have a word with Boris about his testing requirements for fully vaccinated passengers.

If a flight is cancelled within two weeks of departure then you can claim compensation. On another thread, someone mentioned flying Manchester to Basel via Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt, though Swiss out of Zürich have been quite consistent throughout the pandemic and have avoided cancelling scheduled flights.
Seems weird that they're still cancelling flights now though after the easing of travel restrictions. You'd think it'd all start to pick up again, that route was always heaving pre-pandemic.
Whilst I've had sympathy with the airlines throughout the pandemic, I don't think it does much for public relations to be cancelling flights just because they're seemingly not booked up enough. Makes it a nightmare for planning trips too, difficult to make things like hotel bookings etc. when you don't know if your flight will be cancelled!

From the above posts it appears that they are delaying their re-start of their services, not selectively cancelling certain flights.
However even though compensation isn’t due airlines are obliged to give full refunds, vouchers only if the customer agrees. Insist on a full refund, there is NO benefit to the customer in taking vouchers.
And talk to Boris.

Twice this summer is maybe not often enough for a realistic sample but KLM via Amsterdam has worked well for us. It’s basically the same time and an additional leg whether you go Manchester-Zürich-Basel with one leg on the train or Manchester-Amsterdam-Basel with two flights. Every plane has been full and on-time. On the last trip our bags didn‘t make the AMS-BSL leg on return (40 minute transfer) but they were on the next flight the following morning and delivered to our door early afternoon. They‘ve also been very helpful/flexible regarding itinerary changes. After being messed about with cancellations and vouchers by BA and Easyjet in the last 18 months, that they actually seem to do what they say they will professionally and without fuss is a big tick.

Schiphol (AMS) airport is so big, I wouldn’t risk a connection under an hour, particularly if it is from Schengen to non-Schengen and vv. Anything over ah hour should be OK.
They have one runway so far from the terminal that it takes 20 minutes to get there.
