Swiss cancels holiday flights for thousands of passengers today!

Summer vacation starts in about a month. Many Swiss people will finally be traveling again this year after two years of corona restrictions. Blick knows: Swiss is canceling around 100 flights in July and August! This Tuesday afternoon, the unsuspecting passengers should be informed. According to Blick information, around 30,000 passengers are likely to be affected. The airline Swiss confirmed on request on Tuesday morning that a corresponding announcement should follow today.

According to the Lufthansa subsidiary, more than half of the passengers affected should be able to switch to another plane. With more than 15,000 passengers, it is therefore a matter of changing aircraft. The other passengers are hit harder: their flights are cancelled.

Not enough staff

The reason for the flight cancellations at the best travel time is the shortage of staff. Swiss fired hundreds of flight attendants in 2021. This is now taking revenge because the demand for flights has risen sharply. The airline is currently trying to hire new crew members quickly. But time is against the Swiss.
